Requirements for appointment

Be a Kenyan citizen;
Be a holder of at least a Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution
Be a holder of a Higher National Diploma in Accident and Emergency Care Nursing
Be registered by the Nursing Council of Kenya as an Accident and Emergency Care Nurse
Possess a valid Practicing License from the Nursing Council of Kenya as an Accident and Emergency Care Nurse
Must be computer literate
Duties and responsibilities

The Registered Nurse – Accident and Emergency Care shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following;

Offering Nursing Services to patients;
Ensuring that medical and other clinical emergencies are well responded to and patients well attended to;
To ensure that the casualty unit of the hospital has all the necessary supplies;
Guiding and counseling patients, clients and staff on health issues;
Referring patients and clients to appropriate health facilities or units in the facility;
Coaching and mentoring students on attachment;
Organizing health management teams and convening health management committee meetings
Collecting and compiling data for research on nursing services issues
Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor
