Orthopaedic Surgeon (Medical Specialist I/Senior Assistant Director of Medical Services) at County Government of Nyandarua
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
Conduct weekly Orthopaedic Outpatient Clinics
Conduct weekly major ward rounds
Conduct Orthopaedic related surgical operations (weekly rounds)
Respond to orthopaedic related emergencies
Interpret diagnostic tests such as CT scans, MRIs, X-Rays, etc
Prescribe and administer medications as appropriate
Supervise and train junior doctors, interns and medical students
Keep and update patients’ medical records /notes
Adhere to relevant orthopedic procedures and guidelines
Collaborate with multidisciplinary medical team
Qualifications
Academic:
KCSE grade to qualify for admission to MBCHB
Professional:
Must be a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBCHB )
Must be a holder of Master’s Degree in Orthopedic Surgery from a recognized institution
Certificate of registration by Kenya Medical Practitioner & Dentists Council
Valid practicing license by the Kenya Medical Practitioner & Dentists Council
In-depth knowledge of hand, foot, joints, long bones and spine surgery
Superb dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Outstanding patient management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Must be computer literate
