Urban Planner (Urban Health) at United Nations Human Settlements Programme

Job Description

The consultant will support the healthy cities workstream including the Cape Verde project. Reporting and Communication The Consultant will be under the overall leadership of the Leader, Planning, Finance and Economy Section and report to the coordinator of Urban Health.

Specific Responsibilities
• Provide planning and design inputs to ongoing planning initiatives, including citywide and site-specific assessments
• Develop clear design proposals, drawings and related reports for partner cities
• Review of technical work prepared by local planners
• Develop critical analysis of existing planning documents and instruments
• Develop learning materials for the section
• Facilitate training of trainings and community participation workshops
• Support in layout and design of key publications for the Agency

Qualifications/special skills
Eduaction; • University degree in Architecture or Urban Planning, or related field that is relevant for sustainable urban development and urban health. Working Experience;
• 2 years’ experience in urban planning and design with direct proven experience in drawing and preparing plan graphical material using computer assisted design tools. Strong graphic representation skills required.
