Senior Security Officer – KMFRI Grade 6 at Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI)

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail: –

Develop and ensure implementation security strategies, policies and procedures
Liaise with security agencies to ensure security of assets and operations
Participate in the coordination of emergency procedures and contingency planning
Identify potential security threats
Coordinate investigation of internal security breaches
Maintain records of crimes and incidents
Oversee security surveys and inspections
Advise management on security related matters affecting operations.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-

Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology or its equivalent from recognized university
At least three (3) years relevant work experience;
Service in the Police Force or Military
Supervisory course lasting not less than two (2) weeks, or equivalent, from a recognized institution
Demonstrated results in work performance
Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution;

Communication skills in both English and Kiswahili;
Interpersonal skills.

Remuneration and Benefits

Basic Salary Scale: KShs. 87,098 – KShs. 113,228 P.M.;
House Allowance: KShs. 35,000 P.M.
Commuter Allowance: KShs. 9,000 P.M.
Annual Leave Allowance: KShs.8,500 P.A.
Medical Cover and Other Allowances: As provided by KMFRI
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable.
