Job Description
The Responsibilities Can Be Roughly Divided Into Two Areas
Recruitment – The successful candidate assumes responsibility for several recruitment tasks. Examples are:
Lead the full cycle recruitment process of employees, consultants, and interns for CIVIC’s field offices across the world
Write, review and finalize job descriptions on various platforms to attract qualified candidates in compliance with internal and donor policies and local law
Support hiring managers with all aspects of the recruitment process, including plan and attend interviews, collate and write candidate assessments, conduct background and sanctions checks and call references, and support with the finalization of job offers
Coordinate and participate in interview debrief with hiring leads and panels
Act as the main point of contact for candidates and applicants
Explain the benefits, the organization’s policies and parameters of the job to applicants
Ensurd compliance with all local regulations regarding employment
Onboard new hires and assisting with orientation in coordination with Operations and People and Culture teams, tracking and ensuring completion of all onboarding tasks
Notify unsucessful candidates and provide appropriate feedback
Assume responsibility for HR data integrity in our HR information system, BambooHR. This includes processing hiring paperwork and maintaining employee records, ensuring that data is complete and up-to-date, that technical issues are escalated, and managing access while maintaining appropriate confidentiality about sensitive information.
Projects – The scope of your project work would range from small “quick win” projects to large-scale projects.
Examples are:
Support the implementation of a hiring policy that aims to recruit a more diverse workforce in all our offices around the world
Track hiring metrics including time-to-hire, time-to-fill and source of hire
Design, distribute and measure the results of candidate experience surveys
Train, advise and coach hiring managers on interviewing techniques and assessment methods
Maintain a database of potential candidates for future job openings
Build and report on quarterly and annual hiring plans
Conduct research and review the final work product when we revise existing or develop new staff policies
Keep up-to-date with the latest trends in recruitment and employment practices
Ultimately, you will be responsible for hiring qualified people while maintaining a positive candidate experience. To do this effectively, you will need to develop a deep understanding of what we do. To do this, we will give you the time you need to develop CIVIC-specific HR expertise and program fluency.
Requirements/Qualifications
We are looking for an exceptional individual who is passionate about people and can climb a steep learning curve in an international environment. Specifically, we are looking for candidates who meet the following
criteria:
At least two years of work experience in Human Resources/People Operations/Recruitment of a non-profit humanitarian organization
Prior experience working in an international and multicultural environment
A university degree or an appropriate combination of education and professional experience
Fluency in English and, with fluency in French and/or Arabic highly valued
You are proactive when solving problems and propose future innovations without being asked.
You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
You have an eye for details and are passionate about creating high-quality work products
Experience using an integrated Human Resources Information System desired
Knowledge of sourcing techniques on social media and niche professional websites
Experience with the largest job sites
