Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of Committee Member include:

Active participation in committee meetings.
Provide oversight and assurance on governance, risk management and control processes and make appropriate recommendations to the Commission.
Follow up on the implementation of recommendations by internal and external
Perform the roles and responsibilities as laid out in the PFM (National Government) Regulations 2015 as well as the Audit Committee Guidelines for National Government, 2016.

Requirement for appointment

For appointment to this role, a person should:

Be a Kenyan citizen.
Possess minimum of a bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce (Accounting/Finance option), Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Auditing, Business Administration or its equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
Be a member of a good standing of a professional body such as ICPAK, ACCA, IIA, ICPSK or any relevant professional body.
Have served at senior management level for at least 6 years with proven experience.
Have in-depth understanding of the relevant legislation, best practices and emerging issues in accounting, auditing, finance, risk management, human resources, procurement, governance and other related fields.
They must be a person of integrity and satisfy the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution.
Not be a holder of a political office.

Reporting

The Audit Risk and Compliance Committee reports to the Commission.
