MTTI/BOG/12/2024: Journalism Studio Technician

Key Responsibilities:

Studio Management and Technical Support

Oversee and maintain the journalism studio’s equipment and inventory.
Provide technical support during practical sessions, ensuring that all equipment is functioning optimally.
Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise during practical exams or classes.
Practical Training Support

Assist trainers during practical sessions, helping to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of hands-on lessons.
Conduct and supervise practical exercises for students, ensuring they gain the necessary skills for their industrial attachment.
Ensure that all practical sessions are in line with the department’s standards for quality and effectiveness.

Relieving Trainers

Take charge of specific aspects of the practical curriculum, ensuring a balanced workload across the team.
Step in as a secondary trainer when required, offering trainee additional mentorship and guidance.

Inventory and Equipment Management

Maintain accurate records of studio equipment and inventory, ensuring everything is in place and ready for use.
Coordinate the purchase, repair, or replacement of equipment as needed.

Student Skill Development

Ensure that trainees acquire the skills required to excel during their industrial attachments.
Foster a hands-on, interactive learning environment that equips students with practical, industry-relevant expertise.

Requirements for Appointment

Minimum Qualification – Diploma in Mass Communication or any other equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution
At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
Certificate in computer applications
Valid certificate of good conduct
