About the Role
Role Overview
The Finance Officer will support the mission, goals, and operations of Zeraki through the provision of accurate, complete, and timely professional financial services. The Finance Officer will ensure accurate Financial Planning, Financial reporting, Cash flow management & Cost control, financial system updating and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue and Billing Management
Identify and address challenges in revenue processes, including billing, deferred revenue, and revenue recognition in compliance with IFRS 15 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers).
Regularly review and analyze billing and transaction data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with financial goals.
Design and implement controls to minimize revenue leakage, including thorough monitoring of cash inflows.
Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and other regulatory frameworks across jurisdictions (Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania).
Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management and internal control framework to mitigate financial and operational risks.
Manage statutory compliance for taxes, including VAT, corporate income tax, and other applicable statutory filings in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
Financial Operations and Systems Management
Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring the timely processing of payments and collections for all entities.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in QuickBooks, ensuring compliance with local accounting standards.
Manage cash flow effectively to ensure operational efficiency and financial stability across the organization.
Financial Reporting
Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports for each subsidiary, ensuring precision and adherence to deadlines (5th of the subsequent month).
Support external audits by preparing necessary documentation and liaising with auditors for Zeraki and its subsidiaries.
Provide actionable insights to management by analyzing financial performance and identifying trends.
Taxation
Prepare and file accurate tax returns for all subsidiaries, including VAT, corporate income tax, and other statutory taxes.
Stay updated on local tax laws and advise on strategies to optimize tax efficiency

Qualifications
Bachelorโs degree in commerce BCOM or Business Administration majoring in Accounting or Finance.
Professional Accountancy Qualifications (CPAK/ACCA).
At least 3 years of experience in using QuickBooks Accounting System.
Experience in financial bookkeeping best practices.
Experience in audit is preferable.
Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office packages and QuickBooks Accounting System, PowerBi, Saasant.
Must maintain strict confidentiality in performing the duties of the Finance Officer with high-level of integrity and honesty and be able to work under minimum supervision.
