ACCOUNTABILITIES
Harvesting and other Field Operations

Responsible for building and reviewing the Mechanical Tea Harvesting strategy
Responsible for the availability and servicing of MH and BH harvesting machines, pruning, grass-cutting machinery and other machinery used in Agronomy Routine repair and maintenance of the machinery and equipment listed above
Optimum utility of machinery and equipment
Procurement and distribution of machines and spares
Responsible for the training of harvester and tea cutter operators – developing all field machinery operation training modules in liaison with HR
Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and continuously review the procedures as necessary.
Responsible for review of safety procedures in mechanization through assessments, audits and inspections.
Responsible for the improvements of the operations through training on productivity, safety, modification and other best industry practices.
Prepare mechanization annual plans to feed into respective unit’s revenue budgets and jointly with unit managers, ensure expenditure is in line with agreed plan.
Monitor overall KPIs and impact on productivity and cost of production
Process and analyze data to useful information (returns and reports) for business decisions
Jointly with Manufacturing managers, link factory and field to match MH quality of raw material to that of made tea
Liaison between operations, engineering, Future technologies on improvements to harvesting machines to deliver products to Lipton quality standards.

Other Machinery

Obtain technological solutions to tasks like weeding, grass cutting, hedge trimming, cultivation among others.
Link up with support groups with the Company Supply Chain, Engineering and vendors for improvements and changes in general field technology.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Graduate in Mechanical Engineering or related field from a recognized institution
3 Years’ relevant experience.
