Data Analyst (6-Month Consultancy Contract) at Africa International University

Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data to support evidence-based decision-making for ongoing programs and research initiatives. The role involves working with various departments, faculty and students to streamline data systems, identify trends, and generate actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

Collect, clean, and validate data from multiple sources.
Analyze datasets using statistical and data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, R, Power BI).
Generate regular reports, dashboards, and summaries for internal use and stakeholder dissemination.
Collaborate with teams to define data requirements and develop efficient data collection tools.
Support program evaluations by providing timely and accurate data insights.
Maintain data security and confidentiality in line with institutional policies.

Qualifications and Experience:

Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field.
At least three (3) years of relevant experience in data analysis or a similar role.
Proficiency in data analysis software and tools.
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
Experience in academic, research, or NGO environments is an added advantage.
Able to work effectively under pressure while maintaining positive relationships with staff, students, and the wider community.
A committed born-again evangelical Christian.
