In line with enhancing career progression of staff and to support business growth, we seek to recruit qualified, experienced, self-driven, highly motivated and passionate candidate to fill the position outlined below within the Credit – Debt Recovery Unit.

Job Purpose:

The role is responsible for maintaining 30- and 90-days PAR within set targets, working with the team to address late and delinquent cases by issuing statutory notices. The role holder will implement policies aligned with the bankโ€™s strategic goals, support business objectives through effective credit practices, and ensure compliance with credit recovery procedures, following CBK prudential guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the implementation of comprehensive collection and recovery strategies targeting delinquent accounts to optimize cash flow and minimize losses.

Ensure timely issuance of demand notices to customers in arrears, maintaining accurate daily reports on the volume and status of notices served.

Collaborate effectively with external service providers and legal partners to support recovery efforts on complex or high-risk accounts.

Proactively identify and escalate challenging cases early, enabling swift intervention and tailored recovery solutions.

Partner closely with general management to align recovery initiatives with organizational goals and operational priorities.

Oversee the implementation and administration of DRU policies, systems, and procedures, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and continuous process improvement.

Drive the initiation and enhancement of recovery processes to improve efficiency, reduce operational costs, and maximize recoveries.

Mentor and train new team members, fostering skill development and knowledge transfer within the recovery unit.

Stay well-informed on local laws and regulations, ensuring all policies and programs comply with legal requirements and remain competitive within the market.

Perform additional duties assigned by management, contributing to the overall success of the unit and organization.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience

University degree or equivalent with a minimum of 3 yearsโ€™ experience in Credit Department

Effective Communication skills.

Knowledge of English and/or Kiswahili languages

IT literacy

Able to operate in a performance driven organization

Culturally aware and adept at working across multiple geographies
