Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accuracy, and supporting financial decision-making. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping:
Maintain and update general ledger accounts.
Record daily financial transactions and ensure accuracy in reporting.
Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Generate reports on financial performance and variances.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Process invoices and ensure timely payments.
Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing and collections.
Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts.
Compliance and Audit:
Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and company policies.
Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Tax and Regulatory:
Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Stay updated on tax laws and financial regulations to ensure compliance.
Financial Analysis:
Analyze financial data and trends to support business decisions.
Provide insights and recommendations based on financial performance.
Administrative Support:
Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
Collaborate with other departments to resolve financial issues and provide support.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related role.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
