Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Lead in providing proper interpretation and implementation of financial policies, regulations and procedures, Government circulars, letters and instructions; develop supplementary financial policies, regulations and procedures to enhance internal controls;
Managing financial resources, coach and mentor staff in the division;
Coordinating preparation and submission of financial statements as required by the law;
Monitoring and evaluating financial systems and make recommendations for improvement;
Ensuring compliance with laid down financial systems;
Overseeing preparation of the corporation’s annual budget and presentation to the Board for approval;
Coordinating reconciliation and maintenance of general ledger accounts;
Ensuring interpretation and implementation of all financial policies, rules and regulations;
Ensuring that accurate, timely, reliable financial information and timely submissions of annual financial statements of accounts;
Ensuring effective management of corporate tax, VAT, and other statutory deductions; and
Any other duty or responsibility as may be assigned by the CEO.
Requirement for Appointment
A person shall be qualified for appointment as the Manager Finance and Accounting if that person meets the following minimum requirements:
Master’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, Accounts, Economics or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting/Finance), Finance, Business Administration, Economics or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
Certified Public Accountant (CPA K) or its equivalent;
Member of institute of Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (ICPAK) and in good standing;
At least ten (10) years’ work experience, five (5) years of which must have been in management role;
Management/Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from recognized institution;
Proficiency in computer applications; and
Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
