Deputy Director, Regional Market at Kenya Tourism Board
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Develops the Regional Marketing Strategy & Annual Work Plans to grow Kenya’s market share, arrivals and revenues.
Coordinate the implementation of Regional Marketing Strategy and Annual Work Plans
Develops project implementation concepts
Develops policies and procedures for the region’s marketing activities
Identifies the marketing communications channels appropriate for the marketing regions
Conducts market analysis and trends to identify tourism marketing opportunities
Interpret data obtained from market research/survey to produce results useful in taking effective business decisions
Manage departmental budget
Collaborates with key support functions within the organization to identify the opportunities for synergies
Monitors and reports progress on implementation of marketing plans on continuous basis
Situation analysis, specifying the issues to be managed in the market / new opportunities / threats
Advise the Director Marketing Development on the overall Regional Market performance
Monitor the implementation of the Strategy and Annual Marketing plan to ensure targets are met
Effectively manage and supervise contracts to ensure delivery of targets including the Market Development representatives
Ensure contractual obligations are met are met.
Implement the Kenya Travel Specialist program
Manages employees targets and performance
Mentors, coaches and provides leadership to the officers in the division.
Identify process improvements that reduce cost, improve quality and allow for the more efficient usage of organizational resources in the region.
Manages risks within the department
Advice the Board and Management on all matters referring to the markets under your responsibility
Evaluate the team against set objectives.
Key Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
Minimum of at least ten (10) years’ experience in a relevant field with five (5) years in a supervisory position
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution OR Bachelor’s Degree in any field from a recognized institution AND a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from a recognized institution
Master’s degree in any of the following; Marketing, Tourism Management, Business Administration or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
Member of a recognized professional body
Management course lasting not less than four (4) week from a recognized institution
Proficiency in computer applications
