Key Responsibilities

Develop financial and accounts policies and procedures
Develop financial management procedures to enhance internal controls in line with PFM act and National treasury guidelines from time to time
Coordinate the preparation of work plans for the department
Coordinates systems and financial audits by both external and internal auditors
Implement a prudent financial management system
Oversee performance management in the department
Coordinate the preparation of annual and supplementary budgets, management reports and financial statements
Manage the implementation of an effective financial system, by ensuring the finance team works according to the right procedures
Implements of the Quality Management System within the directorate
Oversee preparation of departmental activity budget
Mentors and coach the team
Key Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate must possess the following:

Minimum of at least ten (10) years relevant experience with Five (5) years in a supervisory role
Masterโ€™s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce, Business Administration, Economics or its equivalent qualification from recognized institution
Bachelorโ€™s Degree in any of the following discipline: Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics or its equivalent qualification from recognized institution
Certified Public Accountants CPA (K) or its equivalent qualification
Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya
Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
Proficiency in computer applications
