Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate, initiate, formulate and implement policies in Vocational Training Centers; develop and implement programs, policies and projects to enhance enrollment in VTC’s; train and advice on implementation of Vocational Training curricular and co-curricular activities to meet the set standards; oversee assessment of upcoming youth polytechnics capacity of registration as training institutions and examination Centers; initiate, build and strengthen strategic partnerships and collaborations among stakeholders on revitalization, rehabilitation and promotion of Vocational Training; coordinate management and disbursement of Vocational tuition scheme and grants; build capacity in Vocational Training by conducting regular human resource planning; coordinate establishment of functional Boards of Management to manage Vocational Training; liaise with stakeholders on the domestication of the drawings and bills of quantities for infrastructure development; participate in monitoring and evaluation of Vocational Training programs and projects; responsible for advising the Board of Management on prudent management of Vocational Training funds; coordinate the implementation of the departmental strategic plan, performance contracting, annual work plans and monitoring performance
Requirement for appointment
Be a holder of a bachelor’s degree in education or any other first degree and a post Graduate Diploma in Education or its equivalent and relevant qualifications from a recognized institution
Have relevant knowledge and experience of not less than seven (7) years in a related area within the Public Service or Private Sector three (3) of which should be at supervisory or managerial level
Have demonstrated thorough understanding of National Goals, Policies and Development Objectives including the Kenya Vision 2030, County Integrated Development Plan and County Strategic Plan
Have thorough understanding and respect of the diversity within the County
Satisfy the requirements of the Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya; and
Have a certificate in Computer application from a recognized institution.
Possession of a Master’s degree will be an added advantage
