CAD Technician at Victory Farms

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cad Technician responsible for producing precise and professional building plans, shop drawings, and schematics. The role involves maintaining an organized and accessible archive of all drawings and technical notes. The Cad Technician will also conduct site visits to collect accurate measurements and provide on-site guidance when necessary. Attention to detail and technical accuracy are key for success in this role. Strong collaboration with design and construction teams is essential.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Technical Drawing:

Develop concepts and professional plans and technical drawings for various structures including; Residential Houses, Warehouses, Offices, Apartments, Water Towers, Staircases, Trusses, Rafters, Portal Frames, Earthworks (Ponds and Dams), among others.
Develop and update schematics for electrical and plumbing works.
Develop and update site maps for various Victory Farms Sites.

Site Visit and Inspection:

Be able to visit various sites, take measurements, notes and develop sketches. You will also be required to guide the teams on site to ensure drawings and site measurement concurrency as well as to resolve variations that may arise.

Drawings and Documents Organization and Storage:

Ensure that the drawings for the various projects are organized and kept in a structured manner for easy and efficient access by the authorized persons.

Communication:

Communicate effectively with project managers, supervisors, and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on the changes that may occur in the plans.
Problem Solving:

Identify and resolve problems and challenges that may occur and come up with effective and cost saving designs to solve them.

Requirements

Minimum 10 years experience with AutoCAD and equivalent design software which includes MEP, Schematics, Steel and Structural aspects.
Leadership: Ability to offer guidance, advise & solutions to a team.
Technical Knowledge: Advanced skills in 2D and 3D drafting in AutoCAD and ArchiCAD software and a comprehensive understanding of construction methods and materials. Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint software are required for preparation and presentation of concepts and reports.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify, understand and resolve issues efficiently.
Communication: Excellent listening, verbal, written and drawing communication skills.
Organization: Ability to manage multiple projects and arrange their documents in an efficient manner.
