Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
Deputizes the Director of Education.
Administering and managing Vocational Training programs within the County.
Coordinating Vocational Training programs.
Conducting capacity building programs for Vocational Training and other stakeholders.
Identifying, designing, undertaking and coordinating research on Vocational Training.
Developing, monitoring and disseminating information on Vocational Training Programs.
Undertaking research on Vocational Training Education.
Coordinating establishment and overseeing functioning of Boards for Vocational Training Education.
Implementing of Performance Work plans, monitoring and evaluation of various Departmental projects and programs.
Monitoring and evaluation of Curricular and co-curricular activities in Vocational Training.
Development and management of Education Information Management System for Vocational Training Education.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade one must:
Be a Kenyan Citizen;
Bachelors degree in Education or Technical Education from a recognized institution.
OR
Bachelors degree in Science/Arts with a post Graduate Diploma in Education from a recognized institution.
Masters degree in any of the following disciplines: Education Administration, Curriculum, Management or Education Technology of Early Childhood Education from a recognized institution.
Served in the grade of assistant Director or its equivalent position in the public service for at least three (3) years.
Have a management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution.
Thorough understanding of provisions of Vocational Training and Education policies and have the ability to relate them to County and National Development goals.
Have demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Satisfy Chapter six of the constitution of Kenya 2010.

Bungoma County residents will be required to indicate their Sub-county and ward of residence to reach the undersigned by 16 th February, 2025 at 5 p.m.
